Custom Orders
I am often asked to create a keepsake bear or dog from a vintage blanket, special fabric, or heirloom fur. I am always happy to discuss your desires and will design a special heirloom keepsake for you. Custom ordered items created for you, or from your fabric, are not returnable.
Depending on the design you request and the fabric, special order keepsake animals may or may not be jointed. All creations will have glass eyes and may be filled with a combination of any of the following: Excelsior, poly-fil, poly- pellets, steel or glass pellets. Each creation will wear a custom accessory to coordinate with your fabric or fur and include a certificate of authenticity.
An example of one of my most recent creations is shown below. The beautiful black poodle was especially designed to use the fur from a fabulous vintage Persian lamb coat which had a grey Mink collar. The little twin bears were created from a very old mink jacket; the satin lining was used for the paw pads. The dogs were created from a customer photos or specifications.
Average pricing for special order keepsake animals:
10" to 14" from your blanket or fabric or patchwork quilt: $110.00 (Plaid/stripe or unusual nap fabrics will be an additional $15.00.)
10" to 14" from your real fur or suede coat or jacket: $140.00
14" to 18" from your real fur or suede coat or jacket: $195.00
(Real fur and leather back must be in good condition - requires lining and special treatment.)
Additional sizes & fabrics are priced upon request.
